Hello, my name is Coach Spencer and this will be my second year of teaching Physical Education at Scottsdale Christian Academy. I am primarily a Californian who has also lived in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Colorado. I received a Bachelors of Finance from the California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo or just simply Cal Poly during the Fall of 1998 and then began my life in the corporate world. I transferred within the company I was working for at the time in New Jersey to Arizona. When I moved to Arizona, "the proverbial light clicked on" and I realized that I enjoyed working with young people and desired to coach young men in playing football. I proceeded to attend graduate school at Grand Canyon University and graduated in May of 2005 with a Master of Education and more specifically Elementary Education. I am very excited to be a part of the SCA family and am looking forward to working with you and your student along with those young men that I will be coaching this upcoming football season and during the spring in track and field.
I was raised in a Christian home and had parents that loved me and supported me in everything I did. When I was very young I accepted Christ, I have had my ups and downs like many Christians. I would say that once I completed my undergraduate studies is when, who God was really began to make sense. I have experienced the most growth since moving to Arizona in September 1999. I have been attending Highlands Church since I arrived in the valley. I even have a nickname that you may find out about before this year is over. I also have a brother and sister in law that live in the valley as well.
When I have free time I enjoy sports and especially football and baseball. I have visited every current major league baseball stadium with the exception of the Washington Nationals new stadium that opened this year. I enjoy reading books like Wild at Heart, hanging out with friends, and just having a good time which many times includes me being silly.
Again I look forward to being at SCA and working with your student. If you ever need to get a hold of me, please call and I will try to get back to you as soon as possible.
In His Service,
Coach Spencer
