My name is Wendy Smith and this will be my second year teaching Physical Education at SCA. I grew up in Spokane and then moved to Seattle for college. I received my Undergraduate degree and teaching certificate in Physical Education from Seattle Pacific University in the year 2000, and enjoyed three years of teaching elementary PE in Seattle before moving back home to Spokane. God has a plan for my life and I now know it includes teaching here at SCA in Scottsdale. So far, I have loved every minute of my teaching career because helping students learn about being active and staying healthy is one of my passions. I cannot think of a better place to work than Scottsdale Christian Academy and am looking forward to the upcoming year.

I was fortunate to grow up in a Christian household, and when I was five-years-old my mother led me to Christ. I have never regretted that decision.   God has been very faithful to me throughout the years in both good times and bad. In 2002 God blessed my again by giving me my wonderful husband Michael. We have been married for almost five years, and it has been a true joy to be married to him. In 2005 we welcomed our first child. His name is Eli and he is now 2 years old. He has tons of energy and always keeps us on our toes. We feel so fortunate to have him. At the end of last year God then blessed us with our little girl, Audrey.  She is now three months old and doing great.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, playing volleyball, coaching, walking, hiking, and participating in triathlons.
