As you may imagine, band is not merely a class but a wholesome, creative alternative activity to some possible negative or not so constructive summer activities. Please encourage your son or daughter to continue to play their instrument over the summer. Please do not turn in their instrument for the summer. These days, there are many very fun CD play along books at our local music stores, including some worship play along books. Click the hyperlink to view some examples on the SCA band website. Brevard Music Center: Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina, the Brevard Music Center (BMC) has been providing young musicians with the opportunity to develop their talents for sixty-eight years.

Each summer more than 400 students, ages 14 through post-college, join professional musicians to eat, breathe and sleep music for seven weeks. In addition to a rigorous schedule of instruction, students collaborate with faculty and guest artists in more than eighty public performances.
