Elementary Jazz Kittens The Kittens have performed for the SCA auction, Chapel, the Jazz on the Mountainside Jazz Festival, Deer Valley Jazz Festival and various concerts throughout the school year. They would love to play for SCA families, or social events in or out of town. Because of their superior performances at festivals, adjudicators said that the musicians of the Jazz Kittens could easily be the talk of the town! When & Where? This year the Jazz Kittens rehearse Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 3:00-3:30 in the band room (room 604). Performances The Kittens perform about twice a semester. Concerts include the Christmas concerts at SCA (usually a Thursday night) and one Saturday morning performance at PV Mall. Second semester performances include our Spring concert (again on a Thursday night) and performance at Desert Ridge Mall (Saturday morning). Auditions Auditions are open to any 5th or 6th grade band student who plays trombone, trumpet or any saxophone. Every effort will be made to accommodate all band instrument auditionees. See Mr. Lyons for audition information in the band room. Students who have experience on the drums, guitar, bass guitar and piano are also welcome. One of each of these rhythm section instruments will be included in the beginning jazz band.
