Quarter 4

We are applying what we learned first quarter (theory) and

developing and improving what we learned 2nd and 3rd quarters with the provided

Recorder Excellence Book CD, DVD, Software, Microphone and Recorder.

We are:

reading music, writing music, making music with a recorder

and percussion instruments, singing music, performing music, and

exploring music from different countries, (and learning geography).

 

4rd Quarter Grading (Renweb link)

30% Class Participation & Behavior

35% Practice Report or Levels

35% Performances (Dec. 13, May 15)

 

Grades are derived from the student's ability to read and perform:

rhythms  (whole, half, quarter, eighth notes & rests),

notes/pitches   (B, A, G, C, D, E, F# etc.), and

songs  in the Recorder Excellence Book.

They must bring their own book, recorder and pencil to class!

Recordings

 

God is glorified when we, His creation, do what He does, create.

The act or process of creating or recreating is a holy activity since God does it.

We learn to express something wonderful about God and His

creation through music.  Playing the recorder is a form of worship.

Our goal is excellence, in order to give Him our best.
