  • 1867-Amy Carmichael was born in Misille Northern Ireland.

  • 9/12/1882-Amy and her school friends snuck out of bed to watch a comet. (in the end they still got busted)

  • 3/3/1892-Mission trip to JAPAN.

  • 11/1894-Robert Wilson had a stroke and Amy stopped work to go see him.

  • 12/1897-Amy and her mission group 'starry cluster' began mission work in India.

  • 6/1902-Amy was nicknamed "amma" which means mother.

  • 1916-Amy founded 'sisters of the common life" support group.

  • 1/18/1951-Amy Carmichael died.

1.LEADERSHIP-in boarding school, Amy planned a night out to watch a comet, but they got caught.

2.KIND HEARTED-Amy shared the word of God with the people of England, Japan, & India.

3.CONCERN & CARE-Amy left her missionary work, got on two boats and a train to see her good friend who had had a heart attack.

4.not afraid to DO THE RIGHT THING-After one of Amy's church services an old homeless lady asked her to help her across the street. All of the members denied and walked away snobbishly, but Amy and her brother knew it was the right thing to do.

5.STRONG & DETERMINED-Amy's immune system was weak and when she went to Japan she was exposed to many deadly diseases, but she still did the mission work.

Accomplishments:

1.In Japan, Amy had 12 converts

2.In England Amy opened the 'Tin Tabernacle which was an iron building in which Amy gave teachings.

3.Amy wrote & published a book called From Sunrise Land which was about her missionary adventures.

4.Encouraged people in some small Japanese cities to burn their idols because it's an insult to God.

5.1916- Founded the 'Sisters of the Common Life' spiritual support group.
