Timeline: 1. c. 486 B.C.- Esther is born in the citadel of Susa. 2. c. 482 B.C.- Esther's parents died and her cousin/husband/father, Mordecai, brought her in as his own. 3. c. 478 B.C.- Esther becomes Queen of Persia. 4. c. 474 B.C.- Esther reveals Haman's plot to destroy the Jews to King Xerxes. 5. c. 473 B.C.- All the King's palace and the Jews celebrate "Purim", also known as "Esther's Feast." |

Character Qualities Traits/Anecdotes: 1. Brave- She went to the King Xerxes, even though she was not summoned, to invite him and his assistant, Haman, to a banquet she had prepared. She could have been executed, going to him when he sis not summon her. 2. Loyal- Esther could have sat down and watched her friends and family be slaughtered mercilessly. Instead, she told Kin Xerxes straight out that she was Jewish too. *See Quote* 3. Obedient- Mordecai told her to keep her religion secret from the king. When Mordecai heard Haman's plot,he told her that she must do something about it. She obeyed Mordicia, also risking her life 4.Clever-She was very nice to Haman and king Xerxes by inviting them to a banquet, also bribing the king at the same time in a way that is very, very clever. 5. Content- She could have taken all the beauty supplies and the servants with her to the king's palace. Instead, she just took what the king's eunuch, Hegai, suggested. |
Accomplishments: 1. She won the king's favor with her beauty and with God shining through her in her kindness. 2. She found the courage to tell the king Haman's plot against her, even though she knew the king might reject her request to spare the lives of her people. 3.She saved the Jews from a horrible, merciless death. Areas of Life, Society, Eternity, That Were Impacted by Esther 1.King Xerxes allowed there to be Jews, even though he knew some of them hated him. 2. Haman's family shortened and they had less hatred toward the Jews. 3. King Xerxes became nicer and gave more grace than grief. |
