Born in USA in October, 1975 2. 1987 - moved to Englewood, Colorado/Started Middle School/Put on Skis for the first time. 3. 1990 - First trip to Utah. 4. 1993 - Graduated from Cherry Creek High School/Rafted Cataract Canyon in Canyonlands North Park/Moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to attend Carnegie Mellon University 5. 1994 - Hiked first fourteen thousand, Longs Peak, Colorado 6. 2003 - Climbed Holy Cross, Pyramid, and Maroon Bells as winter solo ascents/visited Blue John Canyon |

Character Quality/Anecdotes: 1. Loves God - When he was stuck he prayed to God and didn't curse him for what had happened. 2.Resists Pain - When his arm was cut off he didn't faint or he would have died. 3.Great Confidence - When he knew he had to cut off his arm off he believed in himself and knew God was with him. 4.Great Skills - He is very good at climbing, hiking and rafting. 5.Strong in Mind - Even after he lost his arm he was not discouraged and kept his passion of climbing. |
Accomplishments: 1. He is known around the World for his incredible accomplishment of surviving against all odds, stuck six horrific days pinned to the wall of Blue John Canyon. 2. He finished the Colorado's"Fourteen Thousands" in November of 2001. 3. He survived a "Grade 5" Avalanche in 2003. 4. He received a Double Major in French and minored in Piano as well as was the head of his class and received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Angering. 5. He said, "I've found a way to do everything with my prosthetic arm." |
