1.1924-Born in Hunt County on Boles Farm in Texas, near Kingston.

2.1940-His mom dies when he is 16.

3.1942-When he was 18 years old the Paratroopers and the Marines turned him down because he was undersize and underweight.Then he joined the Army.

4.1945-He was released from the Army.

5.1955-He went to hollywood and made a biography film called "To Hell and Back".

6.1971-On May 28th he was killed in a plane crash next to a mountain near Roanoke,Virginia.

Character Quality/Anecdotes:

1. Bravery- He put his life in danger to save other people and fight for our country.

2. Faith- He had to depend on some people in the war to cover him from right to left.

3.Willing- He was willing to give his life up at any other moment for other people, for example he ran in front of his troops and saved them while they were crossing the river at night.

5. Accomplishment- He accomplished many things such as over 40 total medals while in the army.When he was in the movie he made many movies,was in many and he had books written about him.
