Hi! My name is Suzy Hunt and I am the Elementary Spanish Teacher at SCA. This is my second year teaching at SCA and my tenth year teaching. Also, I have a daughter in first grade and a son in preschool. My husband, Scott, and I have been married for ten years.
I grew up in Southern California and attended UC San Diego in La Jolla, CA. I graduated with a BA in Political Science and minors in Spanish and History. While studying for my bachelors, I attended the University of Madrid, Spain for an entire year. While I had studied Spanish since seventh grade this was the year I became immersed in the language and culture. After graduating, I obtained my teaching credential in Secondary, Elementary, ESL, bilingual education, Spanish and Social Studies. I have taught high school Spanish, middle school Spanish, elementary Spanish along with fourth and fifth grade, ESL and reading.
I became a Christian at age ten, but I really began to understand what it meant to live for Christ until I spent my year abroad. There I taught English, attended a local Spanish speaking Church and was involved in a youth group. After returning, I became involved in several missions trips to various cities in Mexico including two months working in a church in Mexico City, 3 weeks in Guadalajara, day trips to Tecate, and week long trips to Mexicali.
I love working with your children for the short amount of time each week. At home you can reinforce what we are doing in class. Please do not hesitate to email me or leave a message at the office for me.
