Hello and welcome to music! 

My name is Donna Davis. 

I am excited God has allowed me the privilege of teaching

music at SCA for my seventh year.  I attended the University of Arizona in the field of Music Education and completed my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education, with a music content, from Ottawa University.  I have been teaching music for 17 years, I am certified through the state of Arizona and Association for Christian Schools International.

This year, I will be teaching 3rd grade general music, helping in 5th & 6th grade band, 5th & 6th grade choir, and conducting 5th, 6th, JH & HS trumpet, brass & percussion sectionals. 

My favorite part of teaching is getting kids excited about music and instilling a love for music at a young age. I will be teaching music with math, science, spelling, reading, vocabulary, history, geography, foreign languages and Bible. I will also teach how to use music in worship and how we can glorify God with our instruments and voices.

I play the trumpet in the orchestra at Scottsdale Bible Church and also in a couple of college faculty jazz bands and theatre groups around town. I have two boys, Robby and Jayson. We are Arizona natives and we all enjoy attending concerts and theatre productions here in the valley. Robby is 23 years old and is a music major at PVCC.  He attended SCA for eight years.  Jayson is 16 and is a Junior at Horizon High School.  He is in the jazz band and marching band.  He is an Allstate trumpet player, and plays with Young Sounds of Arizona.

I am thankful for the opportunity to teach and love each of my students this year.  They are blessings in my life!

Psalm 150:3-6 Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, Praise Him with the harp and lyre, and dancing, Praise Him with the strings and flute, Praise Him with the clash of cymbals, Praise Him with resounding cymbals.
