PRESCHOOL CURRICULUM
2007-2008
SCA offers a preschool program for students who will be three years old by September 1st of the current school year. The classes meet from 8:30-11:00 a.m., and parents may choose a two-day schedule (Tuesday/Thursday) or a three-day schedule (Monday/Wednesday/Friday). Classes are held at our Early Childhood Education Campus at 13840 North Tatum Blvd.
Our desire is that children grow and develop as Jesus did—“in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man” (Luke 2:52). Therefore, we address all areas of development—intellectual, physical, spiritual, and social/emotional. The core guide is the Wee Learn Curriculum Guide for Three-Year-Olds. This program is developed around themes which are designed to lay a foundation for understanding God, Jesus, the Bible, church, self, family, others, and the natural world.
Learning centers are an important part of the child’s daily experience. Special hands-on activities are planned utilizing dramatic play, books, music, nature, and manipulatives. During group times, the children are exposed to literature, songs, fingerplays, games, and other resources which are centered around the theme topic for the week. The Bible is integrated throughout the curriculum and God into their daily activities.
