Arizona Landscapes

4th grade students study Arizona history--- before man ever arrived—by enjoying pictures of God’s miraculous creation—the Arizona landscapes. First, they analyzed beautiful photographs from Arizona Highways Magazine to define foreground, middle ground, and background vocabulary. Then, they produced their own landscapes using pencil, then permanent marker. Finally, they applied vibrant color by using their best watercolor techniques.
